Intermediate Level 2
The course covers the understanding and application of the following:
- Health & Safety legislation
- Efficient working practices
- Customer Service and Communication
- Buildings
- Energy efficiency
- Alternative construction techniques
- Radial and battered brickwork
- Feature and reinforced brickwork
- Fireplaces and chimney
Course Content:
- Level 2
- Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 1 and attempting Level 2
- End point assessment. This comprises of a multi-choice question online test, on site observations and professional discussion.
Length of Programme:
- 2 years
The course covers the understanding and application of the following:

- Work activities and resources in the workplace
- Complex building work
Course Content:
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupations (Construction)
- Knowledge qualifications available to this pathway:
- Level 3 Diploma in Bricklaying
- Level 3 Diploma in Construction Occupations – pathway Bricklaying
- Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2 – (exemption if you hold GCSE grade 4 or above)
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
Length of Programmes:
- 15 months
